Monday Roundup

After concluding that the weather forcasters were all nuts with their snowy predictions last weekend, we awoke this morning to 4 inches! We don't get snow very often, so this was a big deal, especially to the preschooler in the house. What a beautiful way to disrupt all the crazy business of December! I had to throw out almost my whole to-do list for the day!

It has been the craziest December I can remember and so I've done very little reading. "Green Collar Jobs" is still half read (it's good, I just can't get to it!) and I don't have any others going right now, either. Most of what I've done consists of reading Christmas books to my son. I'll post about my favorite later this week.

What about you? Does anybody out there have time to read, or are you busy nibbling on treats you baked to give away and playing in the snow with your kids?

Oh, gosh, barely getting those Iaiah readings done, Donna! Maybe I'll read more in January.

Me too! Not so much reading but I feel a reading binge coming on in the new year.

Not much reading going on here. I was at the library contemplating looking for 3 Cups of Tea, but the catalog was down, a problem that never occured when cards were de facto. Otherwise the only thing I've read recently was A Canticle for Leibowitz (1959, post-atomic blast the earth rebuilds to a predictable future). A great book, can't believe I never read it before.

Joyce: Me either! Maybe we're still on the same page. :)

Green Bean: I don't know about a binge, but I'd sure like to finish Green Collar Jobs!

SusanB: That Canticle book sounds interesting -- I've never heard of it before. We used to function so well with out all this modern technology, huh! But when the library is up and running again, I'd encourage you to pursue "3 Cups." I thought it was incredibly inspiring.

As an early Xmas present I got my first Sunday NYT delivered to the door. There were all kinds of green ideas in the magazine section, their annual good idea issue or something. I don't know if I'll ever have time to read a book again. But then again the subscription only lasts three months.

Yeah, no, but the thought of curling up with a book by the fire makes me happy. Look forward to hearing about Christmas books with the kids.

kale: Sounds like someone knows you pretty well! Enjoy!

audrey: And, while we're dreaming, with a mug of hot chocolate, too!
