Monday Roundup

For the first time in my life, the arrival of spring has taken on a new image - the allure of the harvest. Beautiful isn't it? This year's first tomatoes. My garden inspired me to read the book I'll be sharing with everyone later this week, but what about you? What books are you reading? Are you finding inspiration in your latest eco-read?

Beautiful tomatoes!

I started a really promising book that turned out to be a dud! Haven't decided if I'm going to review it or not. :)

Donna - That's a shame. I hate when I'm really looking forward to a book and get disappointed...

I'd go ahead and review it though. I get as much out of the negative reviews as I do the positive ones. Just my 2 cents :)

Love the photo. I'm not reading much of anything. I've got some decluttering book in my car that was given o me which I might read. Also, picked up Seed People which Purloined Letter recommended. It's about a community garden (I believe) where people of all ages and backgrounds come together. Haven't cracked the cover but I believe that's what its about.

I'm almost done with Krakatoa and admit to being somewhat disappointed, not as much detail on impact as I expected. I may have been getting it mixed up with a somewhat more sensational book about an earlier explosion (Catastrophe by Keys). Does make you think about the world environment and geological mechanics are reflected in a single event and how longterm global economy/politics are affected in turn.
Also have been skimming two Tightwad Gazette books that I picked up at a yardsale for a quarter each (these are the first books later compiled in The Complete TG) and gleaning a few waste not ideas therefrom.

Green Bean - Seed People? It sounds like science fiction :)

Susan - Haven't heard of Krakatoa, but I've definitely heard of the Tightwad Gazette. I'm looking forward to reading them (I found out my library has them - Yes!) And at 25 cents.. What a steal!
