As the weather continues to cool off here in Central Texas, I'm finding my favorite times of the day are sitting on the front porch with a book, waving at the neighbors as they pass. It's a slower paced life than the usual American household, but it's one I love.
Where is your favorite place to read? Any good books capturing your interest this October?

I love people watching, so coffee shops, on the bus, on the beach...they are all favorite places to read a book.
I haven't been reading much. Just enjoying life, riding by bike and generally relaxing.
I'm like Beany. Not reading much these days. I'm too busy knitting, sewing, cleaning, stocking up for winter. :) If only there were more time in the day, I'd probably pick up a good book.
Beany - Sounds nice... :)
Green Bean - Getting holiday gifts ready? Or just general supplies?
My favorite place to read is curled up with a blanket in front of the heater. If our next house has a fireplace, that will be even better. :)
I'll read anywhere I have three minutes and love it if a book has captured me as my current book has. I don't want to put it down. It's Righteous Porkchop by Nicolette Hahn Niman. I brought it home to scan because she's a local author and I keep seeing the name. But I'm completely taken with it. It's insanely informative about factory farming but is told as a story, her story and other farmers stories. I love a good true story and there's some good ones in here. Mixed in with factory farm poop but it works. I'm half done and it's going on my list of favorite green books.
Donna - Ooh. That sounds toasty :) We're looking at replacing our fireplace with a wood stove. The fireplace looks nice but does nothing to actually produce heat. But cozying up to the wood stove with a book sounds fabulous!
Kale for Sale - Cool! I'll have to put it on my reading list! I'm that way too with a book. I keep one in the bag I carry around with me. That way if I have to wait for the bus, decided to pull over on the bike and enjoy a park, whatever, I have a good book ready to go.
Both but now I realize that I was relying on two books - The Creative Family and Handmade Home both by Amanda Blake Soule. They are basically a tutorial on how to reuse in a beautiful, useful way.
